| Fans' support extremely important for team: Sachin | | | Chennai, Oct 3
Overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of fans here, Sachin Tendulkar today said the support and wishes of Team India admirers meant a lot to him.
Sachin, who is here playing for India Blue in the Challenger series for N K P Salve trophy, visited an adidas showroom to present personally autographed 22 yard cricket shoes of the company to the winners of 'Earn Your Stripes' Challenge.
''It is extremely overwhelming,'' Sachin, who unveiled a hoarding with a life size picture signed by his fans, said.
The master blaster said he was moved by messages on the hoarding like ''next target, bringing back the world cup'', ''you must win the ICC cup.'' Sachin said the message meant a lot to him.
'' The team expects the fans' support especially when it is not doing well,'' he observed.
However, the little master was in no mood to answer any question in specific about (Indian) cricket.
''I think we are straying from the purpose for which we are here,'' Sachin retorted when a television channel reporter asked him about Sourav Ganguly's prospects.
A large number of fans thronged the 5500 Sq ft large showroom and collected his autograph. There was a traffic jam in front of the showroom in the busy T Nagar area, dotted with shopping complexes. |
