| AIEM organizes one day conference on communal harmony | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Nov 1: All India Ekta Manch, (AIEM) a social organization dedicated to the cause of unity, today organized a one-day conference on communal harmony. The main focus of the conference was bridging the gap between various sections of the society and providing a platform to people where they could shun their religious prejudices and interact freely. The function was presided over by Suhail Kazmi, journalist (Chief Guest), Banarsi Dass, (President, All India Ekta Manch, New Delhi), Prof V.K Kapoor, Dr. Liyaqat Ali Magray, Ravinder Koul, were Guest of Honour. Suhail Kazmi while appreciating the role of All India Ekta Manch stressed that in a country riddled with casteism, regionalism, sectarianism and linguistic chauvinism, there is always a need for an organization to rise above the rest and raise its voice of reason against such threats and he welcomed the initiative in the State of J&K. Dr. Banarsi Dass, while describing the role of All India Ekta Manch said that it will strive towards a society devoid of mistrust between various communities which can be achieved once we know each others religion very well and avoid conflict. This will prevent the bloodshed and at the same time by standing united we can counter the threats posed to our beloved nation”India’ by external forces, so that we can emerge as a super power and lead the world. Prof V K Kapoor and Ravinder Koul also appreciated the efforts of the All India Ekta Manch which aims at bridging the divide between various sections of society. The proceedings of the function were conducted by Mr. Tariq Qazi and the function was concluded by-presenting mementos to the guests.
