| Pandit migrants claim stake in Kashmir peace negotiations | | | Early Times Report Jammu Nov 02 Expressing serious concerns over the political developments relating to the Kashmir imbroglio particularly justification of violence and presence of gun in Kashmir to take the so-called freedom movement to a logical conclusion, by the separatist forces, the Panun Kashmir described it as ‘an eye-opener for all.’ Addressing a press conference here today Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President of the organization said, ‘It is due to this violence and presence of gun that the whole community of Kashmiri Pandits stands ethnically cleansed from the valley of Kashmir. And such statements are absolutely deplorable.’ He also claimed the stake to be a part of any negotiation on Kashmir because of the fact that Kashmiri Pandits are the first and natural claimants of the territory of Kashmir. ‘The exodus of the Pandits has added a different dimension to the whole Kashmir issue, and it is now, because of this complexity of the issue involved, that the Pandits have their stakes recognized and registered, he said. ‘The argument that the Kashmir issue cannot be shied away by the government of India is also relevant in context of the issues of displacement and resettlement of the indigenous people of Kashmir-the Kashmiri Pandits, the speakers said. They stressed that the community which has faced genocide, exodus and ethnic cleansing have the first stake to any negotiation on the Kashmir imbroglio. ‘All stakeholders have a right to know as to what the State of India intends to do through this doctrine of silent diplomacy. The nation needs to be reminded of the unanimous resolve of 1994 of the Parliament of India on Kashmir, he reiterated. ‘Any attempt that brings Kashmir out of the territorial and constitutional organisation of India will be resisted with all might, speakers stressed. Bedsides Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President others who were present in this press conference included Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson and J.L.Kaul, Vice President of the Panun Kashmir.
