| Accused jailed in murder case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov. 2: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjay Gupta directed Supt District Jail Jammu to keep the accused Rajesh Kumar alias Raju son of Madan Lal of Ghulam Nabi Dhariwal District Gurdaspur Punjab who was produced in the Court by Bari-Brahmana police, to keep the accused as convict in a murder case of Swarn Singh alias Puppy for undergoing the remaining imprisonment. Swarn Singh alias Puppy a financer who was murdered on June 3, 1994 in Bari-Brahmana area, police after completion of the investigation has produced the challan in the Court accordingly, Court on November 5, 1998, awarded life-imprisonment and fine Rs 20,000 to accused Rajesh Kumar alias Raju along with others accused. The conviction and sentenced awarded by the 1st Additional Sessions Court was confirmed by the High Court on July 31, 2000. During the proceedings before the High Court, convict Rajesh Kumar was enlarged on bail and accordingly with the conformation of conviction and sentenced, the accused were directed to surrender before the Court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge for undergoing sentence imposed on them. Accused Rajesh Kumar alias Raju did not surrendered and warrants for his arrest was issued. Accused convict was arrested by Bari-Brahmana police after about 10 years and produced in the Court. Court sent the accused to district jail Jammu for undergoing the remaining imprisonment. JNF
