Khan provides additional transformers for upgrading power infrastructure

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 03Maintaining that it is the endeavor of government to develop Shahdara Sharief as model town with state of art facilities, Minister of State for Power, Forest and CAPD, Mr Shabir Ahmed Khan assured to upgrade the existing infrastructure and start development works without any further impediment.
Addressing series of public meeting at Shahdara Sharief, Hasplote, Pangai and Khabalan, the Minister reiterated government’s resolve to provide basic amenities in far flung and inaccessible areas. He said the concerned officers have been directed to reach out to the public so as to accustom themselves with the problems and take steps to alleviate the sufferings of inhabitants at the earliest.
For improving power infrastructure in the area, Mr Khan sanctioned Rs.33 lakh for installation of 8 new transformers at Hasplote for Pangai, Rs.35 lakh were provided while Rs.32 lakh were provided for 7 new transformers at Khabalan. He assured to make available ample resources for progress of these areas.
For development Shahdara Sharief, Mr Khan informed that Rs. one crore released prior would be utilized by the end of this year and remaining Rs.2.57 crore would also be provided to upgrade the consecrated place as model town. Soon after paying obeisance at the holy shrine, the Minister interacted with the locals and sought their cooperation and suggestions to successfully execute the development works. He said that accountability and transparency forms priority of government and it is committed to fulfill the promises made with the people of the state. Earlier a deputation from Upper Shahdara Sharief called on the Minister and demanded development of upper reaches of Shahdara.
On sufficient supply of essentials, Mr Khan said that people themselves witnessed regular power, water and ration supply in these remote villages during the holy month of Ramazan. He said that superior quality of ration and enough kerosene is being made available to the inhabitants.
He enhanced the supply of kerosene to 1500 liters in Pangai village. Responding to demand of locals for setting up forest depot at Khabalan, Mr Khan assured to discuss the feasibility of the same with concerned officers. He also assured to redress their other grievances at the earliest.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Development, Mr. Aijaz Khan and senior officers of the administration were present on the occasion.
