| JU researcher in IBC Cambridge for leading scientist award-2009 | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Nov 3 Abdul Rashid Choudhary son of Smt. Hakim Bi and Alhaj Allah Din Choudhary, a promising conservation scientist from Jammu University and a resident of Village Panihad, Budhal, the remotest area of District Rajouri has been selected for the IBC’s (Cambridge,U.K.) Leading Scientists of the World Award 2009. This accolade is credited to those individuals by IBC that have fulfilled a standard of merit in eyes of their peers that is beyond the norms. As symbol of personal achievement in his field of Conservation Science for the common good, it is lasting tribute to Rashid, which can be achieved by a very select few for the benefit of many. The award came as a recogonisation to his work on Biodiversity Conservation Status and Assessment as CI Consultant in North Western Himalaya including Pir Panjal ranges of Jammu and Kashmir State. His broader area of research is Conservation Science, Climate Change and Global Warming. His extension efforts as a young researcher coming from a tribal ethnic group (Gujjars) and working in militancy infested region were highly appreciated by the IBC, U.K. The citation sates that, Rashid is one of these contributors to excellence, Rashid through his constant efforts, maintained a standard worth rewarding. Therefore, as a noted and eminent professional in Conservation Science, Rashid have been nominated for IBC Leading Scientist Award 2009. Ratification of this nomination by the Awards Board has been completed and Rashid Choudhary has been named as the member of IBC. This year only one thousand leading professionals from across the world, working in various scientific fields, have been chosen for this coveted honour.
