| Muftis want freedom not independence: Arora | | | Early Times Report Jammu Nov: Mehbooba Mufti in a discussion over self-rule in Srinagar said that they demand a separate country like status, in the words of Mufti "they want freedom not independence" as both words have separate meaning, State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora Advocate termed the statement as shameful and against National Integrity and against the constitution of State. He warned Mehbooba Mufti not to provoke the sentiments and asked why her father did not raise this question when he was Home Minister of India and enjoyed the power as Chief Minister of the State? Both leaders’ father and daughter want to enjoy power by befooling people of Kashmir, people should ask them why they have taken oath under the constitution of state, suggested Arora and added that statement is a seriously an objection to oath taken in Assembly. “They have affirmed to uphold constitution and laws established there under, Ramesh Arora said and added that the logic of trade with Centre Asia is a matter of Union External Affairs. Even the purposed of so called autonomy uphold that this subject is a central subject, and state have no right to interfere. He said that recently former Dy. Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig made similar statement at Leh and advocated the demand of opening boundaries and ways for trade with China and Centre Asia through Leh-Ladakh. The same stand was taken by Mehbooba Mufti yesterday in conference. They call it as a formula of self-rule. Arora appealed the centre government to think about that gun in hands cause less damage than the leaders who plead the gun culture and separatism do. Arora appealed centre government to remember the days when Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah was put behind bar for such type of statement, centre should take a serious note of the situation. In fact, recent statement of Moulvi Umar Farooq in London conference about appreciating gun culture was also on same lines. Arora appealed state as well as centre to take all possible steps to stop the perpetuators of fundamentalist extremism.
