Nago’s daughter-in-law Moves High Court for defreezing bank accounts

Jammu, Nov 3: Dr. Panna Manhas Choudhary, wife of Jatinder Singh Choudhary alias Raja and daughter-in-law of Choudhary Nagar Singh, filed a petition in the state High Court seeking direction for quashing the letter of Branch Manager J&K Bank Branch Trikuta Nagar Jammu and quashing the letter of respondents Special Investigating Team and Deputy SP Swatantar Arora and commanding them to show their authority under which they have directed freezing the accounts of Choudhary Nagar Singh, the father-in-law of the petitioner and brothers of Choudhary Nagar Singh namely Rakesh Kumar and Jagar Singh.
The petitioner also pleaded for the issue of directions to the Branch Manager SBI Hari Market, J&K Bank Trikuta Nagar, Branch Manager UCO Bank Raghunath Bazaar, Branch Manager Canara Bank Branch Gandhi Nagar Extension, Jammu, to entertain and clear the cheques which are presented to them in due course against the accounts of business establishment and personal accounts of father-in-law of petitioner namely Choudhary Nagar Singh and his brothers in future.
In the petition filed through Advocates M A Bhat, Ajay Singh Kotwal and A H Bhat in which it has been submitted that the petitioner is daughter-in-law of Choudhary Nagar Singh and wife of Jatinder Singh who has been implicated in case FIR No 247/2009 of P/S Gandhi Nagar.
The petitioner’s husband and father-in-law are directors and partners in various business establishments including Kissan Flour Mill and New Kissan Flour Mills etc. The petitioner is also trustee of charitable and educational trust running the educational institution. The petitioner in absence of her husband and father-in-law is looking after the business of her family and seeking direction to the banks to clear the cheques. Meanwhile, bail application of Choudhary brothers has been adjourned for tomorrow by the High Court. JNF
