| UKF dare separatists for grounds of 'independence' | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 4: Daring the separatist leaders to define the grounds over which they raise their demand of "independence" or "accession with Pakistan', United Kashmiriyat Forum has described their slogans as illogical and misleading having nothing but a potential for them to amass huge wealth for leading comfortable life. In a meeting of its executive members organized here on Wednesday at Partap Park Srinagar, the members decried the separatist leaders for frustrating the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir on one plea or the other. Making public the happenings of the meeting through a statement issued here today, Chairman United Kashmiriyat Forum (UKF) Bharat Raina said that the separatist leaders have been building the castle in the air and hence misleading the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir. "What is the logic of Azadi or accession to Pakistan at a time when 34 % of J&K is occupied by Pakistan (POK) 15% by China 42 % of erstwhile JK state is Jammu & Ladakh which automatically means that Kashmir is now only 9%," asks Raina and adds that in that nine percent as well there are other communities as well in case the separatist forces give it a religious color. Criticizing the separatist groups for their role, the statement said that it is small group of around 4 % of the valley population headed by handful separatists who are dead bent to divide the state on religious basis. “A person who claims to be a Pakistani in every respect can by no way think in the right direction for the prosperity of the people of Kashmir," he said and added that it were the separatists who provoked the people last year which resulted into the death of at least forty persons. He said that it was the high time for the people of the valley to identify the forces who never wish to see them prospering in every sphere. It is the separatist forces of the valley who sow the seeds of hatred among the hearts of the people and blotted the age old culture of the place, he said. Others who spoke on the occasion included Ashwani Bhat, Arun Raina , Kamal Raina, Manoj and Ali Mohmad.
