| Govt should direct ministers, bureaucrats to declare their assets: FF asso. | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: The J&K freedom fighters association (FFA) president, Ved Gandotra have hailed the declaration of assets by the supreme court judges through web-site for the information of public, and describe it as a right step in the right direction. Addressing a press conference along with FFA general secretary, MR Bangotra he said similar steps be taken by the state government by directing all the ministers, politicians and top bureaucrats to declare their assets which will help in curbing the corruption in the state. They said even union government should also fallen the same path, as it is the demand of common people of the country. The recent step taken by the CBI to seal the property of Madhu Khoda in 200 crores hawala money has been welcomed by the people of country but demand similar steps must be taken against all those who are involved in thousands of crores of scams irrespective of party. The law must be equal for all. These leaders congratulated the chief justice of India and appealed the supreme court to issue directions to the subordinate court to take strict action against all those who are involved in big scams and centre and state government must not shield the black sheep in their government, they said. Referring to J&K state, they said some of the ministers are involving in corruption and allegation have been leveled against than in assembly too if those allegations were falsed then why the concerned ministers have not gone to the court of law to prove themselves innocent. They further said that case registered in the vigilance department and in accountability commission by former supreme court justice then chairman of the commissioned have been shelved instead of taking action against the guilty by the state government. The freedom fighters association has said that the corruption and development can not go side by side. That is why due to rampant corruption in J&K the condition of the people could not improve inspite of crores of rupees funds allotted by the centre to the state as maximum of the amount have gone in the pockets of those who are responsible to utilize those grants for the development of state and to provide the basic amenities to the common people. That is why the state has earned its notorious status number 2 in the corruption among all the states of India. Leaders appealed to the chief minister Omar Abdullah not to spare any corrupt politicians for the sake of development. All the minister of J&K state must declare their assets in the list of supreme court decision. They also appealed the chief minister to accord the government permission for initiating the action process against the pending case in state vigilance or accountability commission. There is urgent need to break the nexus among politicians, mafias and some officials of the state administration. The step taken by chief minister against top police officer and others in Amandeep Singh Murder case have been welcomed by general masses of state.
