| Pressurize Pak to vacate occupied area of JK: BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Nov 4 Maintaining that the problems in Kashmir are an off shoot of the painful communal division of India in 1947, the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has asserted that these could be tackled only through secular outlook enshrined in the Indian constitution and by snubbing all the communal thinking instead of appeasing elements trying to distance this state from rest of India. He also told that Pakistan should be pressurized to vacate the illegally occupied areas of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the unanimous resolution of 1994, adopted by the parliament. Addressing a meeting of the party activists from Doda-Kishtwar and some other areas, Prof. Gupta recalled that the sad communal division of the country was result of the pernicious designs of the imperialists and it was unfortunate that certain leaders including a one time Congressman Ali Mohd. Jinnah had fallen prey to the conspiracy but for personal reasons. The effects of this evil division are still causing problems in one form or the other because of the ruling Congress leadership was never having a will to fight out the residue of this obnoxious move as per the basic principles of the constitution of the country. The activists especially those of Doda areas expressed grave concern over the reports that behind the scene some formula is being evolved to appease the separatists and semi-secessionists by dividing Jammu areas into different zones under communal outlook and they reminded that in early fifties under similar approach the district of Doda was created by the then Prime Minister, late Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah, under a communal mindset and since creation of this district, it always remained hot bed of communal conspiracies and a centre of the activities of secessionists and votaries of the limit accession to India. They also pointed out that during the past 20 years now, these Doda areas were major centre of terrorist strikes and in all about sixty big massacres in the state nearly twenty were committed by the terrorists in this area alone killing about 250 innocent persons in a brute manner. The slogans of autonomy, self-rule or that of Azadi are all loaded with communal thinking and the nationalists must prepare to frustrate the designs aimed at granting concessions to secessionists and these who wanted limited relationship with India, he added and observed that brave Indian troops had been demonstrating gallantry at the battle field but the Congress leadership had been failing in diplomacy at the table. The Shimla Agreement was the biggest proof of their failures that even after unprecedented victories of the army during 1971, war, the Congress leadership yielded large areas of Chhamb to Pakistan and it was pleaded that for peace something had to lose but the result are obvious. He asked the worker to be ready for struggle if any wrong decision is taken.
