Early Times Report Udhampur Nov 04 District Congress leaders and active members in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Bhupinder Singh Pathania, President Distt Congress Udhampur today demanded immediate restoration of cancelled DMU trains and compensation to the draught affected farmers. Pathania and other members in this meeting also called upon the party rank and file to keep themselves ready for the upcoming Panchayat Polls. Brij Mohan Sharma, contestant candidate from Udhampur, alleged that due to delayed and scanty monsoon, paddy crop has been a near-total casualty and thus demanded immediate formulation of departmental teams with a view to assess the loss and awarding of suitable compensation. Smt Gita Devi, Mahila district president, Rakesh Chander, District Youth President, Sachin Sharma Distt. N.S.U.I. President, Sh. Prem Nath Drahi, District SC/ST Cell President, S. Lal Singh and Sh. Jagdish Prashar, District President Rajiv Gandhi Brigade, ManMohan Raina, District Coordinator, Aam Aadmi ka Sipahi, Rajesh Gupta, District Coordinator, Seva Dal, Sher Singh, District President, Migrant cell, Shakkar Dass Advocate, Ishar Dass, Bishan Dass, Shakuntla Devi, Parvati Devi, Vad Parkash, Romesh Saddotra, Raj Kumar Kalotra, Sh. Sham Manhas, and a 100-odd galaxy of workers drawn from various parts of the district also participated in today’s meeting.
