Army to organize Veterinary Aid Camps from Nov 6

Two Veterinary Aid Camps are being organised by 3 Advance Field Veterinary Hospital on behalf of 71 Sub Area under the aegis Op Sadbhavana at villages Dhalpar and Ritti in Udhampur District from Nov 6-9.
Defence Spokesperon Northern Command Lt Col D K Kachari said in addition to providing treatment, animal husbandry advice and specialist veterinary cover, these camps will be encompassing in nature. The Camps will be inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Udhampur and shall have Brig AL Chavan, Commander 71 Sub Area the guiding light of these projects presiding over them. Dr AR Nazki, Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, SKUAST, RS Pura, Jammu and all District Officials from Udhampur will be gracing the function.
‘Each camp is aimed at providing needy farmers and ex-servicemen of that region a single window of opportunity to interact with Army agencies like Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Ex-servicemen help line, Directorate General Resettlement, doctors from the Army Medical Corps etc in addition to all civil administration officials involved in rural development, he said.
The Veterinary Aid Camps are being organised in collaboration with Civil District Animal Husbandry authorities and specialist teams from the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, SKUAST, RS Pura, Jammu and specialist diagnostic and treatment facilities will be provided free of cost to the sick animals while veterinary medicines will be issued free of cost.
Additional attractions at the camps will include stalls established by Directorate General Resettlement, Civil Departments of Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Social Forestry, and other Rural Development agencies, J&K bank and State Bank of India will also be participating in the camp. M/S Shalimar feeds Private Limited will also be distributing free animal feed packets.
