NEW MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES RECOMMENDED AT SMVDU

Katra Nov 5. A Two day conference on emerging technologies in manufacturing took off to a flying start at SMVDU at Katra. The conference NCAMT-09 inaugurated here today at SMVDU
Speaking on the occasion Prof. N.K.Bansal, Vice Chancellor Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University highlighted the importance of an integrated approach to engineering particularly for manufacturing. Prof Bansal said that the national conference will provide exposure to the young budding Engineers especially engineering students of SMVDU in the latest field of developments in the manufacturing and advanced technology in order to equip them to face the techno-economic challenges of the millennium.
Shri. Anil Kumar Chopra, MD Nulux group was the Chief Guest in the inaugural function and the souvenir was released during the function.
Addressing the Delegates and students of the department of engineering Shri Chopra stressed that the need of the day was an interaction between the industry and the academicians’ .He said that the university had already taken a leap in this direction.
The fruits of this highly awaited conference have already started showing up as many executives promised many a lucrative proposals during the conference. Mr. Chopra (MD Nulux group) showed keen interest in supported the development of labs and research facilities in already rapidly growing infrastructure of the university,
The conference is being attended by 150 PG students, 50 research scholars & large number of people associated with the industry 7 academic institutions participated on the 1st day itself.
The Conference is bound to lay down a mutual environment of understanding & greater coordination between the academia & the industry so that they can work together to develop students impart them with the adequate skills as are needed in practical conditions
The guest of honor was Mr. Ravi D Sharma. It was also attended by various prominent faculty and industrialist .Prof. Sunil Pandey (IIT D), Prof. Pradeep Kumar(IIT R), Prof. Hari Singh(NIT KKR), Dr. Gurvinder Singh(SONALIKA) ,Mr. L.S. Jain (MARUTI UDHYOG), Prof. P.M. Pandey (IIT R), Prof. M.S. Grewal(BBS BEC) Mr. Ravi D. Sharma were a few. The Conference is held under edges of Mechanical Engineering; Prof. Navdeep Malhotra is the Convener to the Conference.
