| First batch of 70 artisan trainees pass out | | | Early Times Report
Katra, Nov 5- Congratulating the first batch of trainees under project of Ministry of Textiles “Training through established Institutions under HRD scheme”, Vice Chancellor SMVDU advised them to use the knowledge gained during their stay in the University for betterment of themselves and the society at large.
Out of 143 artisans of wood and metal craft from various parts of the state 70 selected artisans underwent training in advanced technology related to wood working and metal working at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
Project coordinator B.K.Bhatia said that second batch will be started very soon for which artisan have already submitted their applications and also in near future SMVDU has a proportion to create a knowledge and resource centre for the handicraft artisans of the state.
