| Tender unconditional apology, BJP to Chidambaram | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 5- BJP State President Ashok Khajuria has asked the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram to tender unconditional apology to public for not objecting to the resolution passed by Devbund about appealing Muslims not to sing Vande Matram, the national song. P. Chidambaram’s assertion that he was not present when the resolution was passed is not acceptable. Even now when he came to know about the same, why he has not opposed it, Khajuria asked. Simply saying that it was not passed in his presence is not sufficient, BJP Chief maintained. Khajuria said it is question of nation’s respect and the Union Home Minister can not escape from the responsibility and needs to make his stand clear on the resolution. Muslims too took active part in freedom struggle of India and they too chanted "Vande Matram" like others. Vande Matram should not be seen with communal eyes as it is symbol of honour and respect of our country. BJP President said that many people have laid down their lives to defend this symbol of freedom struggle. Bankim Chander had dedicated this to the nation and nation is indebted to the noble soul and all who stood by it during freedom struggle. Khajuria appealed the state government that instead of stopping Vande Matram it should be made compulsory to be sung in every school.
