| DDC inspects hospital, development works | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Nov 5: District Development Commissioner (DDC), G.R.Bhagat alongwith a team of district officers and engineers visited the District Hospital premises and took stock of the pace of ongoing construction works of the newly 100 bedded building at Kishtwar. During the inspection, the Deputy General Manager, JKPCC Kishtwar informed the DDC that the building is being constructed at an estimated cost of over Rs. 11.15 crore and out of which an amount of Rs. 6.50 crore has been spent by the end of October 2009 raising it up to the roof level structure and the finishing works have also been started and shall be completed on the scheduled date of ending May 2010. The DDC also visited indoor wards and interacted with the patients to ascertain the medicare provisions for the patients besides the hygienic conditions in and around the district hospital complex. While taking a review of the physical achievements, the Superintendent of the hospital disclosed that as many as 58536 patients have been treated which includes 4033 indoor and 5316 senior citizens by end of September. He also disclosed that 440 major, 961 minor, 96 cataract, 106 LSCS operations were performed during the same period besides attending 761 normal deliveries and 25 dog bites cases treated and conducting 16222 various type of laboratory tests and 2696 X-rays at the District Hospital, Kishtwar. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the doctors, specialists and other medical functionaries of the hospital to render their services to the ailing community with a missionary spirit and provide them the best medical services within the available sources at the hospital.
