DDC reviews implementation of BRGF

Kishtwar, Nov 5: District Development Commissioner (DDC), G.R.Bhagat, impressed upon the district officers and other line departments functionaries to ensure 60% physical and financial achievements in the district under the BRGF (Backward Region Grant Fund) scheme for the year 2008-2009, besides submission of the monthly progress reports in other sectors positively for onward transmission to the government without a fail. He also asked for involving the Banking sector in the BRGF scheme for ensuring financial discipline and achieving desired goals under centrally sponsored schemes.
He was addressing a review meeting on the BRGF schemes for which an amount of Rs.7.75 crores have been released against the sanctioned plan of Rs.8.61 crores for the year of 2008-2009 for the district Kishtwar.
Various issues pertaining to the effective and result oriented BRGF scheme were discussed in the meeting and suggestion made for incorporating the leftover critical gap welfare schemes for the next BRGF plan for year 2010-2011 for the district. The ACD, who is the District Coordinator gave a presentation to the participants on the pattern of BRGS funds distribution under each sector in the district at the panchyat, block and district level and urged upon them to furnish the next BRFG plan for year 2010-2011 at the earliest possible time so that same is sent to the concerned for approval purposes. The meeting among others was attended by the District Officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep/Animal Husbandry departments Manger SBI, Lead Bank Officer, Doda/Kishtwar, Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD and others.
