| 2 women attempt to commit suicide in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 5 : A girl set herself on fire while another consumed poison to commit suicide in Kashmir valley, where the trend of taking extreme step has increased even after the Muslim Ul mas, NGOs and other social organisations launched awareness programme against it.
Official sources said here today that one Asmat Ayub Khan alias Nigeena set herself on fire after pouring kerosene oil over her body at Mughal Mohalla Rainwari.
However, her family members immediately took her to hospital with serious burn injuries.
They said it was not immediately known why she took this step.
However, police has registered a case and started investigation.
Sources said one Tasleema Akhter consumed some poisonous substances in her Rawatpora Tangmarg house.
She was immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital at Tangmarg.
However, she was later referred to SMHS hospital in a critical condition
