Udhampur, Nov 6: Residents of Udhampur have criticized autocratic working method of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) for the last several years and has demanded suspension of membership and working team besides launching of fresh membership drive and election for the benefit of business community.
Bar and Restaurant Association Secretary, Vikram Slathia strongly criticized working of Chamber and termed it two men show with having no support of business community. Coming down heavily upon Chamber he said that he has applied for membership in October 2006 but till date despite repeated requests he has not been enrolled as a member. He added that there are many others from business community who had applied for enrolment as member but chamber could not accept there membership showing there autocratic style of working. He added that those businessmen who really want development of Udhampur were not being given entry in Chamber as they feared that new members might show them doors out. Slathia has demanded early membership drive and election of Chambers so that issues related to business community could be solved
