Early Times Report
Srinagar Nov 6
The moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference today remained undecided about its response to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's offer of talks and decided to meet next week to take a decision in this regard.
It is to mention that the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh during his visit to Kashmir on October 28-29 had offered to talk with all shades of opinion in the state to resolve the Kashmir issue.
‘No consensus has emerged on the issue of bilateral talks with the Centre at a joint meeting of the executive and general council of the amalgam," sources said about today's marathon deliberations.
Sources said that divergent views were expressed by the members of the executive and general councils at the meeting and it was decided to meet again next week to reach a consensus on the offer of talks. "Failed talks between Hurriyat leadership and the government in the past were highlighted by some members at the meeting," the sources said.
