| Gupta asks party cadres to prepare for Panchayat elections | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 7- Under the mass contact program launched by the party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah the Provincial President National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta today visited Jagnoo, Kanal Danga and Dalpur the remote areas of Udhampur district. He was accompanied by other party leaders including Provincial President Women Wing Laximi Dutta, Joint Secretary Pardeep Bali and President Youth Wing Surinder Singh Bunty. Major issues which were the main focus during the contact program included non availability of road connectivity, unscheduled power cuts, shortage of drinking water and other allied matters. Addressing several meetings Gupta said National Conference is a secular party and believes in live and let live policy. He emphasized that for development peace is imperative for which he stressed upon the party rank and file to work unitedly. He assured the workers that all points discussed would be taken up with concerned authorities for early redressal. He advised workers to work unitedly to strengthen the party and to get ready for Panchayat elections. He also suggested them to identify young, honest and energetic people to contest forthcoming elections. Laximi Dutta while addressing said that women folk is essential party of the society which needs to be educated about various schemes including health and education She urged upon the women folk to come forward and involve themselves in various developmental works. Pardeep Bali, S S Bunty, Rajesh Gupta, Ch. Mohammed Shafi, Prem Nath, Akbar Shah, Rama Sharma and Lal Chand Musafir also addressed the meetings
