| Abu Salem's plea to meet mother in TADA court rejected | | |
Mumbai, Oct 4 A TADA court today rejected the plea of 1993 bomb blast accused Abu Salem, seeking permission to meet his mother in the court premises.
The application was rejected by designated judge P D Kode who observed that it was not properly drafted.
Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam objected to Salem's plea saying it could not be granted as the court was in the midst of delivering verdict.
Salem has urged for permission to meet his mother who has come from Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh.
The court has separated the trial of Salem from 123 other accused, including actor Sanjay Dutt.
The gangster was extradited from Portugal in November last year and has been in custody since then. |
