| Shastri urges FC commission for special finance assistant package to J&K | | |
Early times Report Jammu, Nov 8: The president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri, has appealed the 13th finance commissioner (FC) chairman, Dr. VL Kelkar recommend to the union govt. in its award which is likely to be submitted later this month for providing special financial assistant package to Jammu and Kashmir for fully funding expenditures for implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations in favour of state government employees and pensioners. Addressing NMC workers rally here today, Shastri appealed for liberal funding to J&K so that besides providing all benefits of the 6th pay commission to the state government employees and pensioners as well as payment of arrears on account of pay revision. He said a lump sum amount of Rs. 8000 crores be provide exclusively for the purpose. He also pleaded that all the allowances and perks which have been made available to the central government staff under the 6th pay commission report like 20% HRA, release of DA installment from July last, children education allowance, transport allowance, LTC and bonus be also provided to the state government employees so that they could also be brought at par with their central counterparts. Describing the current year as a year of working class since chief minister took historic decision such as release of 6 % pending DA installment due from January this year enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs. 70 to Rs. 100 per day, implementation of 6th pay commission and several other measures, He said this year should be the year of daily wagers adding that their services should be regularized in one go. Shastri hoped that chief minister would pay his special attention to the other pending demands of the working class especially those of the workers who have been employed as daily wages. Others who also addressed the rally were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Kasturi Lal, Chaman Lal Bhagat, Sukh Dev Singh, Subash Chander, Surinder Kumar, Dalip Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Roshan Lal, Kasturi Lal, Geeta Devi, Mohd. Rafiq and Barkat Ram.
