| ASKPC outrightly reject autonomy proposal | | | Early times Report Jammu, Nov 8: The executive body of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) which med under the leadership of its president, AN Vaishnavi discussed the proceedings of the Apex Committee meeting where the home minister of India was in the chair and listened to the problems of the community in a cordial atmosphere. He said minister gave a patient hearing and said that he would come again with the solution and meet the members of the Apex committee before taking any final decision. There was a unanimous decision of the members to go to their place of birth as a whole and not in piecemeal to one places where 75 thousand families can live. It was also brought to the notice of the minister that withdrawal of the writ petition for release of CCA in favour of employees, be also done. The encroachment of lands in the valley and their eviction by the government was all put forth to the home minister and the request for passage for temples and shrine bill was also made. Moreover he said, minister was requested to absorb six thousand youths instead of three thousand in the central government services while state government has secured 15000 jobs on floor of the legislature so the rest can be accommodated by the state government. The members discussed the hyps of the autonomy and rejected it out right as the community does not feel secure in that dispensation being the victims and sufferes which led to the mass exodus and government is urged not to treat us as Guiana pigs for experimentatic anymore. Speaking in the meeting HL Chatta, said that the state government failed to improve the lot of the displaced community and the prices are scaring very high and the migrant face innumerable difficulties, so the minister for relief and rehabilitation was requested to lead the delegation to Delhi to get the monthly relief enhanced. He also stress for declaration of distress sale of migrant null and void in the valley to facilitate the return. Those who also spoke in the meeting include RK Raina, BL Handoo, MK Sher, Ashok Dhar, Ravind Raina, Makhan Lal, Suman and Lalitaji.
