| Stop district level recruitments till formulation of rules: PDP | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 8- The PDP today impressed upon the government to stop making appointments at the district level before formulating rules as was assured in the budget session of the state legislature. In a statement three party MLAs Nizamudin Bhat, Syed Basharat Bukhari and Mansoor Hussain have said that the process for appointments against District Cadre posts are made against public wishes and prospectus of youth to earn livelihood and contribute at the District level. The Legislators reminded government of the Bill which on this issue is under consideration of select committee and added that any process in between will be a mockery of the institution of Assembly and amount to backtracking by the government on the promises it had held to youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing anguish over the government’s attitude, the legislators said that if the Service Selection Board was allowed to continue with the present norms it will force the youth of the state to launch a full fledged agitation against this. The legislators hoped that sanity will prevail on the government and they will keep their promise by ordering complete halt of recruitment at District level till the law is fully rationalized as per the need and demand as also the judicious distribution of the jobs within district. The logic of the proposed law is fully explained by fact that the same will facilitate smooth functioning of the administration at district level and will also come as a great relief to deprived, backward and far-flung areas. They said that district Kupwara is already on the boil on this issue and government can not ignore the sensitivity and potential of this issue.
