Slathia assures infrastructural dev in remote, backward areas

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 08 -Reiterating governments’ resolve to develop the rural, inaccessible areas with state of art infrastructural facilities, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr Surjit Singh Slathia asserted on equipping these backward area with adequate amenities so as to uplift their socio-economic status.
Addressing public gathering at Dabuj, Vijaypur here this morning, the Minister maintained that accountability and transparency form the priority of present regime and it is committed to fulfill the promises made with the public. Conceding the long pending demand of the inhabitants, Mr Slathia announced that work on 55 meters span vented causeway estimated to the completed at cost of Rs.1.23 crore would be started shortly. He said this causeway would benefit large number of populace thereby mitigating their difficulties. He also apprised that about Rs.93 lakh road projects under NABARD would also be started during the current year. The Minister asked the concerned officers to prepare detailed report regarding construction of cremation ground and the adjoining road. He asked them to remain available to the public so as to redress their grievances on the spot.
At Vijaypur, while speaking at public hearing Mr Slathia urged the people to coordinate with the administration in effective implementation of various development works. After listening to the problems the minister redressed most of them on the spot and instructed the concerned officers to look into other issues for early solution. On the occasion, Mr Slathia distributed 24 cheques worth Rs 30,000 each as first installment under integrated housing slum development programme among the beneficiaries. He announced upgradation of primary school Dabuj and said classes for the next session would start in the middle session. He directed the concerned officers to identity land for construction of dispensary and prepares the project report. He assured of all possible assistance for progress of backward and far flung areas.
