| Time ripe for Panchayat Elections: JKPP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: The Panchayat Elections are long overdue and rural public needs this system at the earliest beside the state government is losing annual grant of Rs. 500 crore from the centre allocated for development of rural areas under panchayati raj system,” said Jugal Kishore Gupta-President of Jammu Kashmir State Panchayat Parishad (JKPP) in a meeting of office bearers held here today. He informed that a delegation of JKPP headed by SS Vijai Mishar chief general secretary of All India Panchayat Parishad- Delhi had met the minister of rural development and panchayat raj system- Ali Mohammad Sagar at Srinagar. The delegation of JKPP which included JKPP president, Abdul Gani Naseem ex. MLA and AM Wani had discussed the problems being faced by rural masses in the absence of 3 tier systems in the state. The delegation urged upon the state government for announcing the action plan for panchayat elections. The meeting among others was attended Nissar Ahmed Khan- ex Minister and patron JKPP, Dr. Gopal Dass Sharma, Abrar Ahmed Khan, Deep Mala, Sonia Dutta and Rajeev Dutta.
