Forest Deptt launches training on land records, demarcation in Reasi

REASI, NOV: 10 days training programme on “basic concept of land records & demarcation” was started for the field functionaries of Forest Department by Forest Division Reasi from today which shall conclude on 21st of November, 2009.

The District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Mr. Pandurang Pole inaugurated the training programme while Divisional Forest Officer, Reasi was VS Sainthil Kumar led the training programme.

The DDC in his address appreciated the objective of training programme and gave overview of importance of land records and demarcation and emphasized that the Revenue department will render its fullest co-operation to the forest department in sorting out the intrigues with reference to land demarcation and would also commit to prevent encroachment. He further said that a team of Revenue and Forest officials comprising of Naib Tehsildar and Range Officer will be constituted for the demarcation of Berun line forest and will be mutated to Forest department and it will be carried out village wise. It is first of its kind in this state where a joint effort is carried out to save the precious Forest, he added.

In box bold lines
The Divisional Forest Officer Sainthil Kumar on occasion said that ever increasing population has posed a great threat to the forest area due to huge demand of dwelling place which in turn increases the attempts to encroach the forest land. He further said that this training will re-invigorate the knowledge about the land records and demarcation among the field staff to effectively mitigate the attempts of encroachment. The training programmes composed of both theories and field land demarcation exercise and in hand practical experience to the field staff in the arena of basic survey, Nishandahi and map reading etc he added. He congratulated the field staff in achieving Indra Priyadarshini Award to J&K state by the central government in increasing the tree cover.

The inaugural function was also attended by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Sambyal.
