| Says J&K militancy hit areas also needs help at par with Naxal hit areas | | J&K seeks Rs 2000 Cr central package | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Nov 9- Minister for Roads and Buildings, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has sought Union Government’s help for reconstruction of militancy hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir and said that he has approached Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for providing Rs 2000 crore help on the pattern of special package given to Naxal hit areas of the country. “I have personally approached PM during his recent visit to state and I requested him to provide special package for the development of militancy hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir on the pattern of the package given to Naxal hit areas”, he said while addressing media persons in Poonch. Saroori, who is on three days official visit to border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, said that militancy hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir need special attention and Centre Government should come forward for reconstruction of these areas. “Centre has announced Rs 7000 crore special package for Naxal hit areas of the country, we are also expecting that Rs 2000 crore must be given to us”, Saroori said adding that state government has approached Centre in this regard. “When I met PM recently, I discussed this issue with him and he has agreed to provide some funds on the same lines”, Saroori said.
