| Seven-day Police custody for 4 youths in ETT paper leak scam | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: In the Elementary Teachers Training course examination’s paper leakage scam, the Police today visited the State Board of School Education at Rehari and seized original papers for scrutiny. The four youths arrested Sunday on allegations of leaking paper have been taken on seven-day Police remand. Police has also asked Board of School Education (BOSE) authorities to cancel the English paper of 7/10 session as before it was being held students were well versed of all questions. BOSE authority reacting over police statement is holding a meeting on 11 November where the decision of cancellation of the paper would be taken. When contacted to Chairman of BOSE Deshbandu confirmed Early Times of police’s arrival in office and pinned hope on police to book the culprits involved in the paper leak scam. “ I have extended cooperation to police to bust the racket involved in the dirty game”, he maintained. However, reacting over the papers leakage scam Jammu Private Schools and ETT Institutes Association has appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullaha to bifurcate J&K State Board Of School Education for its fool proof image. Intensifying its stir to bust the racket involved in three years course of Elementary Teachers Training paper leak scam police today conducted a raid in the residence of the kingpin in Satwari area but he managed to escape. In the latest development for detailed questioning to reach in the depth of the case police has taken 4 arrested ETT students identified as Sukhvinder son of Sant Singh, Jaswinder son of Sampuran Singh, Sukhvinder Pal son of Rajesh Lal and Vishwadeep son of Dharam Chand all are residents of Jallalabad on 7 days police remand. On revelation of the arrested youth police conducted raid in the residence of one Harmeet Singh alias Harry Singh, the kingpin in the racket in Satwari area but the accused managed to escape. Meanwhile, the Jammu private schools and ETT association (progressive) in a meeting chaired by its president Deep Singh to discuss the new published in the today’s news papers about the leakage of question paper related to the ETT ongoing examination and the out come of police investigation in context of unfortunate involvement of certain private schools in forged certificate business. He said surprising factor in this regard is the advance discussion among the ETT students linked with ongoing examination related to the setting of out of syllabus teaching of Punjabi paper scheduled for today. The same paper was also leaked much earlier along with the English paper. The members were of the view that the unwanted political interference of the politicians and concerned higher authorities of the government’s school education department from the last fifteen years in the day to day working of the J&K state board of school education is responsible for the mess. The association finally reiterated on there earlier demand that bifurcation of the present J&K state board of school education which is the only solution to the unlimited confusion linked with this prestigious institution of the state and appealed the chief minister to consider the option for the better academic standards of coming generations.
