| CRPF jawan arrested with live grenade at Railway Station | | |
Jammu, Oct 04 : Railway police arrested a Central Reserve Police Force personal for allegedly carrying a live hand grenade in his bag, while boarding a train at Jammu Railway Station, late on Tuesday evening.
The arrested para-military personal has been identified as Sepoy Manoj of CRPF, who was on way to his home on leave. He was found in unauthorized possession of the grenade beside Bullet Proof Jacket and a pouch, sources disclosed.
Giving details of the arrest, sources said that an X-ray man of Railway police noticed a man moving inside the railway station in mysterious circumstances. The alert police personal immediately asked the suspect to put his language in the X-ray machine for checking.
Sources further revealed that the X-ray showed a grenade looking object inside the bag, which was immediately put to thorough check. “On checking some cloths, a BP jacket, a pouch and a live HE-36 Hand grenade was found inside the bag”, sources said adding, the accused Sepoy was immediately taken into custody and a case against him was registered at GRP police station, Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that a CRPF jawan was recently arrested from the Railway Station along with 40 live cartridges but police was later accused of hushing up the case. |
