Jammu, Nov 10: The Safai Karamchari’s union has urged upon the state government that all those safaikaramcharies which were brought from state of Punjab be declared as state subject.
Addressing the members of the union its president, Dev Anand Gill said all the karamcharies were brought from Punjab by then prime minister of J&K, late Bakshi Gulam Mohammad, but till date no action in this regard has been taken. He also demanded re-organization of Jammu Municipal Corporation file of which is still lying with Dy. Chief Minister. He appealed to the government to implement the genuine demands of safai karamchari at an earliest before the municipal elections, otherwise employees will be compelled to hold massive demonstration.
The meeting was also attended by Kashmiro Devi, Shanti Devi, Shankar, Vijayu Pal, Sethi, Bhagat Ram, Raju Mooman, Tarseem Hans and others.
