| Humming Buds organise Annual Sports Meet | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 10- Humming Buds, the pre-school of Model Academy, organized its Annual Sports Meet at it campus here today. Around seventy five tiny toddlers in the age group of 2 to 4 years, from both B. C. Road and Residency Road branches of the school participated in various events organized on the occasion.
Director MIER, Dr. Renu Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Adit Gupta Principal presented a brief report on the progress of Humming Buds since its inception in 2005 and declared the sports meet open. Several innovative events were held keeping in mind the age group and developmental level of the children. Vice Principal, B.C. Road School, Usha Gadoo presided over the function.
The sports meet not only had the element of fun infused in it, but also sought to further develop the psychomotor skills and abilities of the students like flag race, sticking parts of the body, hurdle race, cycling, relay race, balancing the cushion and matching the pair of socks were some of the events organized to test the various abilities of the little buds. This was followed by a karate presentation by the students which showed various defence tactics. Medals of honor were presented to the winners by the chief guest.
Dr.Renu Gupta in her address applauded the efforts and the dedication put in by the team of Humming Buds and hoped that such events would become a regular feature of the pre-school and expressed satisfaction with the teaching methodology in Humming Buds wherein the young students were not pressurized to learn by traditional methods.
Mothers of both the branches were involved in tug of war event to prove they are no less than men in comparison to physical strength whereas, fathers showed their skills in shelling of peas. Principal of Residency Road School, Rupa Gupta thanked the chief guest, participants, parents, teachers and the organizers of the sports meet on the occasion.
