Selja, Jora take brand J&K to London

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 10-Union Minister for Tourism, Kumari Shelija, J&K Minister for Tourism, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister of State for Tourism, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani today inaugurated World Travel Mart in London. The visitors from London and other places who intend to visit Kashmir have been given confidence that the place is now safe for all kinds of tourism.
They were informed that recently High Commissioners and Ambassadors of 22 countries not only visited Kashmir but also played golf and interacted with general people during their travel to all major destinations of Kashmir.
Jora, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani and other officers which include Secretary Tourism, Ms. Tanveer Jehan and Director Tourism, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah interacted with members of House of Lords and Asian Guild. They emphasized that advisory issued to travelers of United Kingdom for not visiting Kashmir may be withdrawn. The hectic activities are in progress and it is expected that Britain may withdraw the advisory keeping in view of fast improving situation in Kashmir.
The political personalities, intellectuals, opinion makers and media persons are already convinced that time has come that people and other adjoining countries should include Kashmir again in their travel programmes as the people of Kashmir Valley have always received the visitors of these countries with warmth and love. The travelers from this country have been visiting Kashmir since last several centuries and various books, travelogues and literature has been documented, projecting Kashmir as paradise on earth.
The Ministers and officers during interaction have acknowledged that due to turmoil the flow of tourists from United Kingdom and other adjoining countries to the Valley was affected to a large extent but now the Jammu and Kashmir Government with a active support of Union Ministry of Tourism has started vigorous campaign to attract these tourists from these countries back to the Valley. They informed that their current visit is based on this campaign so that the impression which has been created all round the world that paradise cannot be visited because of continuous turmoil is required to be erased.
They informed that some times irresponsible reporting by some foreign news agencies are deliberately aggravating small incidents adversely which directly affects the psyche of intending visitors for visiting the Valley. They said the purpose of their visit is to convey a strong message to the people of the world particularly people of United Kingdom that visitors are always welcome to Jammu and Kashmir State particularly in the Valley.
