| Rural areas to get facilities like cities , assures Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, NOVEMBER 10 :Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that coalition government is committed to develop far-flung areas of the state at par with towns and cities by providing road connectivity, education, health, drinking water, electricity and drainage and sewerage system. This was stated by the Minister while inspecting the various ongoing development works in Chatha village in Satwari block, here this afternoon. Mr. Bhalla said that government has sanctioned Rs. 20 lakh for maintenance of interior thirteen lanes and drains from link road to Shiv temple. He asked the R&B authorities to immediately start the work by using quality material for the benefit of people. He said that coalition government was fully aware of problems of general masses problems and is tirelessly working for their redress. He asked the officers to personally monitor the development works in their respective areas and complete these within stipulated time frame. Responding to the demands of locals, the Minister asked the PHE authorities to construct one hand pump in the premises of Government Middle School, Chatha at a cost of Rs. 2.5 lakh for the convenience of children. Regarding maintenance of cremation ground in the village, he directed the R&B authorities to immediately start the maintenance work in providing pathway, sodium lights and sitting arrangements. For this purpose, he said government has approved Rs. 18 lakh. For construction of additional rooms in Government Girls Middle School, Chatha, he asked the Chief Education Officer, Jammu to prepare the estimates and submit for funding so that the construction work is taken up soon for the benefit of children.
