| PDD afflicted with power woes, majority of seniors positions vacant | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov11- Afflicted with power woes of different kinds, the state power development department is facing many hardships in rendering quality services to the consumers.
As per official records posts of at least five Chief engineers, more than half a dozen superintending engineers, over two dozen Executive engineers and at least 100 Assistant executive engineers are lying vacant and junior officers are manning these posts to carry out daily routine work.
Highly placed departmental sources on Wednesday claimed that the department is facing many hardships in rendering quality services to the consumers.
On one hand no fresh allocation in this financial year has been released to the sub divisions for carrying out routine works and on the other hand several key posts in the PDD are still lying vacant as large number of senior officers is locked in turf war to retain their superiority over their subordinate officers.
"Though our seniors are fighting with each other over joining prize posting we are suffering in isolation and facing public ire in the absence of poor quality of services and maintenance, junior officers in the PDD department dealing with the public on daily basis argued. In the absence of release of funds required for carrying out essential works on daily basis the power development department is finding it difficult to meet the expectations of the general public and is failing to provide uninterrupted power supply.
