| JSM for separate Civil Secretariat at both state capitals | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 11- To make the administration more efficient and responsive to the needs of the people of the State, Jammu State Morcha has demanded opening of civil secretariat at Srinagar and Jammu through out the year In a joint statement issued here today the JSM leaders have strongly criticized the functioning of the State Government and maintained that the efficiency and the work culture in the offices have reached the lowest level. The corruption has touched its highest degree. The Government is not responsive to the general issues pinching the common masses. It is indecisive and does not have the courage and conviction to tackle the issues concerning the public at large. The strike by the unemployed youth, pro-longed Dharnas and protests by various sections and the Government employees do not move the Government. The way the SRTC employees, who had been on strike for the last about three months are glaring examples of mis-governance of the coalition dispensation, the statement added.
The statement has called upon the State Government to dispense with the practice of Darbar Move as it smells the autocratic traditions of Maharajas which should not be continued in a democratic system. The Drbar Move practice costs huge amount of money which a state like ours with limited financial resources cannot afford as it has to depend upon the Government of India even for payment of salaries to its employees, the statement said.
