| PK hails APHC offer of unconditional dialogue | | ‘Don’t undermine importance of KP’s; Raina to Muslim leaders | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 11- Welcoming the statement of Chairman APHC Maulvi Umar Farooq offering unconditional dialogue with Government of India to resolve the Kashmiri imbroglio, the activists of Panun Kashmir viewed it as a positive change in the mindset of the Hurriyat Conference.
Panun Kashmir in its supreme council meeting here today discussed and deliberated on the present political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. Wile taking cognizance to the importance of dialogue process, a senior PK leader Sushil Raina said that Muslim leaders of Kashmir should never undermine the importance of ethno composition of the leadership of Kashmir where Kashmiri Pandits, the aborigines, have inherent claim for their political, social and economical rights similar to that of the Muslims of Kashmir.
One of the senior PK leader Vinod Koul, addressing the meeting, made is amply clear that Panun Kashmir shall adopt all possible ways to address its political, social and cultural needs of its community and will never hesitate in participating in any unconditional dialogue with the leadership of majority community of Kashmir provided any such initiative is taken without deviation to our strategic position. ‘Panun Kashmir is always open for talks with any genuine representative of the state or of national leadership for settlement of all outstanding issues in general and political issue in particular in which Kashmiri Pandit community has a major role to play for achievements of its political, social, cultural and economic rights of which the community has been altogether deprived and neglected’, the PK leaders said.
The meeting passed a resolution unanimously which interalia says that PK activists shall be open for negotiations with all the genuine public representatives in the state particularly with the leadership of Kashmir Valley. It further says that PK shall launch a massive public campaigning for awareness of the general fellow Kashmiri Pandits to remain vigilant about the design of the state/centre government to make the community further dispersed and to dilute the political demand of the community which is creation of separate homeland in the valley.
On this occasion the PK activists elected Chaman Lal Koul as chief coordinator of the supreme council.
The meeting, among others, was attended by Dr. Inder Raina, Ramesh Bhat, Biboo Ji Zutshi, Sudhir Dhar, Ravinder Razdan, J I Bhan, Pran Matoo, Ashok Raina, Ramesh Pandita, Davinder Dhar, T K Zutshi, A K Pandit, Ashok Bhan and M K Tickoo.
