Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13- Abdul Majid Wani MLA Doda today hailed the approval of Rs. 9377 crores prestigious project for strengthening and four lanning of Jammu-Qazigund National Highway.
In a statement Wani said while the Central leadership and the Chief Minister are eager for the speedy development of the state few sectors are still lagging behind because of the surprising negligence and in-competency shown by the concerned quarters. Despite a number of road accidents in Doda as well as Poonch, consuming hundreds of precious human lives during last one year, the Transport and Traffic Departments have not woken up fully as yet. Only half hearted efforts by these agencies of the government cannot make our roads safe and comfortable enough. Remedial measures have been suggested to the concerned departments from time to time, but perhaps the concerned quarters have taken pledge of non performance despite repeated loss of precious human lives. Their role seems to be limited expressing sympathies and visiting the grieved families after the accidents, he lamented.
