| Chaman Lal Chaman remembered on 3rd death anniversary | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 13 -On the 3rd death anniversary of veteran Environmentalist Chaman Lal Chaman, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Chaman Sandesh Kender today organized an awareness program on Environment at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rehari. Speaking on the occasion, Convenor of the Kender Ritu Chaman gave a brief account of environmental problems faced by the society in terms of the hazards of global warming, depleted water reservoir, increase in temperature, melting of glaciers and turning of fertile land into deserts. She disclosed that these problems can only be solved with public awareness and motivation to save our environment. Ritu Chaman also highlighted the importance of trees in combating global warming and improving the condition of the environment, besides providing oxygen, food and shelter to human beings and animals. While paying tributes to Chaman Lal Chaman, she said that late environmentalist always gave message to masses to protect the environment and appealed them to know the importance of trees in life. ‘Pledging to preserve environment is the real tribute to late Chaman Lal Chaman’, she added.
