Jammu, Nov 14: The Kashmir Hindu Conference (KHC) activists have expressed displeasure over anti-social, anti-national and of communal utterances by the huriyat leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani while addressing the students of university of Kashmir on November 10.
KHC leaders, ML Thusoo and PL Koul Badgami while addressing the activists said Geelani’s speech has created communal sentiments besides provoked the youth. They said his game plan intends to institutionalize militancy and separatist tendence among the teachers and students of the university and such this is a great threat to the sovereignty and pluralistic society together with social and national integration, such a trend style will prove more disastrous than the suicidal squads and human bombs. They said the conference demands a probe in the mater how and easy access was made possible for Geelani to address a gathering of most sensitive class of the society. The conference asked the chief minister Omar Abdullah to tender unreserved public apology for such a big administrative lapse.
The academic institution needs to teach religious tolerance, mutual brotherhood, patriotism and fellow feeling among the students instead of animosity, hatred and communal feelings, suggested by Geelani.
Thusoo and Budgami have asked main stream politicians either to be true nationalists or join hands with Geelani. They should not deceive the people by saying that government is only Bijli-Sardak and Panni the Kashmir question is disputed. They have never cared to develop nationalist spirit among people and have not taught people to fight for their country. This way they are deceiving their own contentious.
The meeting was also addressed S. vice president KL Ganjoo and general secretary Jai Krishen Raina Makhtoom.
