| Hospital management workshop gets underway | | | Early Times Report Jammu, November 14 - In order to improve the healthcare system in Government hospitals, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) organized a one-day workshop, coinciding with the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru here today. Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma and Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Mr. R.S. Chib inaugurated the workshop. The NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for health care organizations. The board is structured to cater to the much desired needs of the consumers and set benchmarks for the progress and expansion on health industry. The aim of organizing this workshop was to upgrade the existing medicare system in various health institutions of the State and to identify the areas which require further improvement so that better medicare facilities could be provided to the patients. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma stressed on introspection of existing facilities in health institutions and asked the participants of the workshop to identify the areas that need further improvement so as to overcome the shortcomings in the existing health sector in the State. He hoped that the deliberations in the workshop would prove beneficial for the State. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chib said organizing such workshops will prove beneficial to all the heads of the institutions in learning about the latest trends and innovations in the health sector. He wished all success to the workshop. He also conveyed his gratitude to the visiting faculty for participating in this workshop. He asked the participants to take maximum benefits out of the workshop by sharing experiences with the visiting faculty members.
