| Lions Club donates Rs.10, 000 to hapless widow for daughter’s marriage | | | Early Times report
Kathua, Nov 15- Coming to the rescue of a poor widow, President Lions Club Vikas Ubbot, accompanied by the Secretary Partap Singh and Treasurer Sarvesh Gupta, today presented Rs.10,000 to Meena Kumari widow of Late Amar Nath of Lower Shiva Nagar for the marriage ceremony of her daughter Bharti being held on November 22.
The President said that the family is in distress and have lost all belongings including the dowry in a fire one day prior to Diwali. He said the Club as per its objective to help the poor and needy on humanitarian ground came forward and donated Rs10, 000 to the family for solemnizing the marriage ceremony of their daughter.
This gesture of the Club has been appreciated by the people in general and the family in distress in particular.
