| Panun Kashmir takes exception to remarks in Nyla Khan’s book | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 15- Supreme Council of Panun Kashmir under the chairmanship of its coordinator Daya Krishan Koul has expressed deep shock and anguish over a damaging and historically incorrect statement regarding the perpetuators of exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, appearing in a book “ISLAM: WOMEN IN KASHMIR by U.S based one Nyla Ali Khan who happens to be the grand daughter of late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah. The book which is making rounds in market and political circles quotes Panun Kashmir movement “having now acknowledged that in 1990, Government of India managed the exodus of Kashmiri Pandit community from Kashmir valley”. In a press statement issued here today the Supreme Council in one voice rejected and condemned such malicious stand of erstwhile President of Panun Kashmir Movement attempting to absolve the Islamic Terrorists and secessionists supported by Pakistan of death, destruction and exodus of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community. It is a historical fact that the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits was masterminded and executed by these very forces. Needless to mention, that Kashmiri Pandits were selectively killed, abducted, tortured and threatened by terrorist. Their women folk were selectively subjected to rape, murder and abduction. Nobody can deny the fact that Kashmiri Pandits were openly challenged to leave the valley within stipulated time. Nyla Ali Khan, the author of the book has authoritatively quoted the then President of PKM, who while addressing the media in Srinagar on Marc 30, 2008 has reportedly made this sinister statement, which remains un-refuted till date. Supreme Council members vowed to defeat such design of distortion and mutilation of the historical realities of exodus of Kashmiri Pandit Community, the statement said adding that Panun Kashmir will not allow anybody to exonerate the forces responsible for Genocide and Exodus of our community. It was also decided that PK will take up the matter with the author and publisher of the book and ask them to stop the circulation of this contemptuous book henceforth, the statement said.
