11/16/2009 11:55:54 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu , 16
Police today barred the Agricultural Technocrats from staging protest rally and marching towards Divisional Commissioner Jammu office in support of their demands of regularization.
According to reports, the police did not allow the Agricultural technocrats to hold protest ‘Chetavani Rally’ to Divisional Commissioner office Jammu in support of their demands.
Meanwhile, the technocrats today staged a protest rally from Exhibition Ground and when they reached Dogra Chowk, police asked the protesters that they would not allow them to stage protest demonstration and stop the protesters to proceed further to Div Com Office, which led into minor shuffle between police and protesters.
The protesters then only raised slogans against the state government and dispersed later.
Speaking on the occasion, the agricultural technocrats said in April 2007 agriculture technocrats of Jammu and Kashmir were appointed as Rehber-e-Ziraat employees in Agriculture Deptt, but they have not been regularized so far.
Surinder Radotra, president of the association said that the state government time and again promised us regarding regularization of our service as Jr Agri Assistant (JAA’s) in the Department of Agriculture and in this regard, they held series of meetings with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir, but nothing positive has come out so far.
He asked the Chief Minister to fulfill his commitment made with them time and again for their regularization.
Rajeev Sharma, Gen. Secy of association said that during the last Assembly Budget session 2009, their monthly honorarium was increased from Rs 1500 to Rs 3000 but the most surprising fact was that the formal orders in this behalf were still awaited.
He warned the authorities for early regularization otherwise they would be forced to take hard steps.
