| DDG NCC visits Model Academy | | Opt for NCC, Brig Gupta to students | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 16- Brig. Anil Gupta Deputy Director General NCC Directorate J&K visited Model Academy and impressed upon the students to opt for NCC in order to explore the hidden qualities in themselves and build amongst them the spirit of patriotism to make them better citizens of India. Brig. Gupta also highlighted the need of NCC for the students and informed that NCC inculcates a sense of discipline, team spirit, patriotism and helps develop moral values. He also gave a mantra for success to the students which was “I can, I will”. He also gave the awareness to the students that by being an NCC cadet, the students can have special quota for admission in various universities, engineering and medical colleges and students if selected and also go for international exchange programs and visit other countries. He also congratulated the school for doing a commendable job in this area. On this occasion the students presented a group song and Ravi Singh First Officer of the NCC wing read a detailed report of various NCC activities and apprised the DDG of the achievements of the wing like the Best Cadet Award and the Sahara scholarships for the NCC students. Earlier Brig Gupta was accorded a warm welcome by Joint Director MIER, Dr Adit Gupta and Vice Principal Usha Gadoo. The cadets of the Naval NCC wing of the school presented a guard of honour after which the DDG inspected the cadet parade.
