| Nagbani School celebrates Annual Athletic Meet | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Nov 17 MHAC Nagbani celebrated its Annual Athletic Meet with great zeal and enthusiasm in the school premises. A large number of students and parents of the students were present on this occasion.
The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony was P K Koul, Assistant Commissioner Kendriya Vidhalya Sangathan Jammu.
Lt Col J.S. Salathia, Commanding Officer 2nd J&K BN. NCC, Jammu was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony while Capt Dewan Singh, Manager LMC presided over the function.
The Principal Yogesh Khosla welcomed the Chief Guest and read out the sport achievements of the students who have excelled at State, National and International level. Chief guest Salathia gave away the prizes to the winners of the different events. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the students on their whole hearted participation. He also emphasized the importance of sports for the all round development of the students.
Earlier the function commenced with Vedic Mantras that resounded in the whole school campus. Rohini Bharti, Palak Vaid, Vishal Singh & Bhanu Pratap carried out the sports torch in turns to light up the school flame signifying the true sportsman spirit with which the events would be completed.
This was followed by the March Past presented by the students of the four Houses – Amar, Gulab, Pratap and Ranbir. Thereafter the Chief Guest declared the meet open. The ceremony started with the hoisting of the school flag and oath taking ceremony by the sports captain.
Various track and field events were conducted on the occasion which brought forward the participation of the whole school with competitive spirit. The real thrillers of the day were 600 meters race, 800 meters relay race for both boys and girls and parents race.
Amar House walked away with the trophy for the best house in Athletics. Vikas Singh & Vishal Singh were declared the best boy athletes in senior & pre-senior categories and Rohini Bharti & Anamika were the best girl athletes in senior & pre senior girls categories.
The function ended with the chief Guest declaring the sports meet closed and lowering of the School Flag followed by Shanti Path and National Anthem. |
