11/18/2009 10:13:38 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 18: ‘Alleging that the political apparatus of the ruling coalition had crumbled, the law and order situation worsened with the developmental machinery having come to a grinding halt’, the JKNPP leader Harshdev Singh has said the coalition government has totally failed to deliver on the ground with its political credibility being at the lowest ebb.
While the coalition ministers specialized in self-praise and in making loud pronouncements, the output on the ground was negligible, he said and added that the only achievement to their credit was a periodical issuance of lengthy lists of transfer orders and selective suspensions of lower rung officials in a bid to demonstrate their authority and to satisfy their ego. Describing the ruling coalition ministers as ‘toothless tigers’, Harsh Dev said that they existed only in papers and media but had failed in delivering on the ground and in implementing the state as well as the centrally sponsored schemes in their respective departments. He deplored abuse of authority and lack of accountability in governance.
He said the ruling coalition has earned the distinction of being a government of mere slogans and announcements. He said that the slogans of the government of work culture, accountability, transparency had fallen flat and its announcements proved damp squib. He said the government was exposed during the last Assembly Session when its claims of having availed Rs. 30,000 crores from GOI for development turned out to be a farce and its was established that only Rs. 6000 crore had been utilized for development activities.
