| Gupta says UPA security risk for country | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 18- Alleging that the Congress-led dispensation at the centre and incompetent coalition of the state are virtually proving a security risk for the country, the former Union Minister and leader of the BJP legislators party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has expressed his grief over the killing of brave DIG of the BSF, O.P. Tanwar and casualties of other soldiers and officers in the booby traps and infiltration bids along the border/Line of Control. It is intriguing that while there is no let up in the enemy designs, the guards are being lowered by removing the troops even from areas affected by the cross border terror as also there are moves to doing away with the special powers of the forces to deal with the menace of terrorism, he added and observed that Congress leadership was never having a clear cut Kashmir policy and had been buckling under internal and external pressures coupled with the communal considerations. Addressing the party activists and various delegations here, the BJP leader asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, legally as well constitutionally, but the dynastic Congress had put this state at different footing, resulting in so many problems for which the entire country, especially the people of this state, more so of Jammu, have been facing the music. He ridiculed the claims of the ruling leaders including that of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, for providing good Governance and making this state as a ‘Misali Riaysat’ and pointed out to the spate of agitations and anti-government demonstrations by the suffering people. At the meeting the activists listed various problems facing the people including that of soaring prices, missing of rations at the government controlled outlets, poor health care, increasing unemployment, awful conditions of the transport services coupled with mounting road accidents and the government having no policy to provide succor to the families of the victims, and so many others. Prof. Gupta impressed upon the activists to strengthen the forces of nationalism and ventilate the public grievances in a democratic manner.
